Jubitz Winter Wonderland Opens 19TH Season
Region's Largest Drive-Through Holiday Light Show Back At PIR

Portland, OR -  One of the region’s favorite holiday traditions, Jubitz Winter Wonderland powered by Comcast, returns for its 19th season beginning Thanksgiving Day and running through Christmas Day at Portland International Raceway.

Since 1993, the largest drive-through animated light show in the Northwest has attracted more than 100,000 people annually to view spectacular displays of lights and animation from the comfort of personal vehicles and tour buses. The event recorded its 2 millionth visitor in 2010, and charitable donations generated by the event have exceeded $500,000 and 35 tons of food.

In partnership with Jubitz Corporation, the renowned Portland firm that has offered travel, dining and entertainment services for almost 60 years, Winter Wonderland will offer special promotional events including the Run/Walk Night (November 26) Doggie Walk Night (November 28 - no cars), Bike Gallery’s Bike the Lights (December 6 - no cars) and Convoy Night (December 12), a hit of the 2010 season when dozens of spectacularly decorated trucks paraded from Jubitz Travel Center to PIR.

Returning this year is the premium Jubitz Fast Track Pass which enables drivers to enter through a “VIP Line” to reduce waiting time, particularly on nights when attendance is historically high.  The Jubitz Fast Track Pass is available for only $11exclusively at Jubitz Travel Center in North Portland.

“We were thrilled to see the number of folks who took advantage of the Fast Track Pass last year,” said Julie Parker, marketing director for Jubitz. “It definitely cuts down the wait for people anxious to experience Winter Wonderland.”

Also returning is the School Art Contest which provides cash prizes to purchase much-needed art supplies for participating elementary schools.

Show hours are 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, (closed Tuesdays except December 20) and 5:00pm – 11:00 pm Friday and Saturday.  Rates are $16 for each car load, and discount coupons are available at Jubitz.  Separate rates apply for buses and motor homes, with a discount rate for buses every Wednesday evening. The event runs through Christmas Day.
