4th Annual Hot Rod & Kustom Kulture Show at Jubitz Travel Center

April 28, 2011

Portland, OR – The 4th Annual Rose City Round Up kicks off this year’s event on Saturday June 18th.  Car and motorcycle enthusiasts from miles around flock to Jubitz Travel Center in North Portland to experience a day of music, food, vendors, raffle prizes, and of course, classic cars and bikes, all hosted by the local Driven Dead Car Club.  A charity organization is chosen each year as a recipient for proceeds from the event.  This year they have chosen the Oregon Food Bank as the beneficiary, largely because of the increased struggle for local families to put food on the table due to economic conditions.  Although the event is free to the public, a suggested donation of two cans of non-perishable food is encouraged.

Friday night will feature an opening show in the Jubitz Ponderosa Lounge with music from the Hillbilly Hellcats.  The all-day event on Saturday will continue to bring something special to the city of Portland.  Entertainment will be featured, including a “Pin-Stripe Off”, where local artists will have a chance to compete in pin-striping technique.  Bub Johnson, the Driven Dead’s President, expresses his enthusiasm for the show:  “I am really excited for the Rose City Round Up this year.  We have been working really hard at making this show about the full culture that surrounds the traditional and kustom car scene.”  The show moves indoors for an evening band line-up featuring rockabilly favorite, the Dusty 45s, as headliner.

The event is open at 9am for pre-registered vehicles and 9:30am for unregistered.  Music and entertainment will start at 10am.  Pre-1965 cars and pre-1980 motorcycles are welcome.  Jubitz Travel Center is located at 10350 N. Vancouver Way, Portland, OR 97217.  For more details and to pre-register your vehicle, visit www.rosecityroundup.com.
